Location: Pantelleria, Sicily, Italy
An ancient master dammuso, framed by the Mediterranean scrub, embraced and protected by the Great Mountain with its scents of woods and citrus fruits. The oldest part of the dammuso consists of a bedroom with an alcove and a bathroom, a living room, a second bathroom and a kitchen which leads to a third bedroom. In all the rooms can be admired the "vaults" in real barrel and bezel and the "casene" niches obtained in the thick walls with different utilities. The current owners have deliberately kept some original pieces including the hand-painted majolica floors, the internal and external doors in solid wood with their original "succola" closure (typical wooden bolt) and other elements that are scattered around inside the property. Leaving the kitchen we find a nice small terrace sheltered from the winds and protected from the strong rays of the sun by two luxuriant old palms and, crossing the laundry room, we enter the large room of the convivaries with oven, barbecue and work surface, a reserved and welcoming place for evenings with friends. Returning to the small terrace we also find the old "macaseno" a large room formerly used as a deposit and now transformed into a charming mini independent apartment with kitchenette, utility room, bathroom and wooden loft. A second independent apartment can be reached by continuing along a path, at the end of which we find a wrought-iron gate through which you enter the Pantelleria garden full of citrus fruits and aromatic herbs. A little further up, continuing on the same path, we find an area equipped from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the village below, the sea and the setting sun which lets you see the mountains of nearby Tunisia. The property also has a 3 completely independent apartment, obtained from the renovation of two ancient stables and which consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. The surrounding land is composed of small terraces with olive trees, zibibbo, capers and fruit as well as a small vegetable garden and a succulent garden. The property includes a warehouse - cellar located behind the parking lot and two large tanks for collecting rainwater during the winter months.
